The event will be rescheduled to a later date following appropriate guidelines.

Keynote Speakers
Claire Crisp is an award-winning author and advocate for children with narcolepsy. Her book Waking Mathilda – A Memoir of Childhood Narcolepsy is about 13 year old Mathilda who developed narcolepsy when she was 3 years old. Mathilda will be attending with her mum and will be speaking about her narcolepsy and cataplexy.
Mathilda Crisp is the daughter of Claire Crisp’s, an award-winning author and advocate for children with narcolepsy. Dr. Mignot is Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University and Director of the Stanford Center for Sleep Sciences and Medicine. He is internationally recognized for discovering the cause of narcolepsy.
Dr Mark Patterson – We are delighted to welcome Dr. Patterson back. Mark is a Paediatric Consultant in Virginia, Dad to daughter Melissa who has narcolepsy and cataplexy. Mark created the BedRace for narcolepsy which he brought to Ireland in 2018. You can see more on his website at https://day4naps.org/
Ragy is a physiotherapy masters student at Trinity College Dublin. Ragy will be speaking about physical activity and exercise for people with narcolepsy.
Hilary Lyons is a secondary school teacher with responsibility for special education needs in her school. As she has NWC herself and understands its' impact on education, Hilary believes that we should advocate for narcolepsy as a special educational need in schools and that parents should seek accommodations accordingly for their children with narcolepsy.

The 14th European Narcolepsy Days (END) conference took place in November 2023 in
Leiden, the Netherlands, with a wide range of participants: researchers; neurologists and other health care professionals; representatives from the pharmaceutical industry; patients with narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia (IH); their relatives and parents of children with narcolepsy.
During a patient session organised by eNAP (European Narcolepsy Alliance for Patients), the participants discussed the challenges faced by people with narcolepsy/IH at different stages of life. In addition to the participants from the conference, several Dutch narcolepsy patients and parents of children with the disease also contributed. They were divided into 10 groups, with two groups in each of the five subjects: newly diagnosed; parents of children; teenagers; young adults and adults.

Narcolepsy Ireland hosted a conference for World Narcolepsy Day
World Narcolepsy Day (Sept. 22, 2021) is a day dedicated to raising awareness of narcolepsy on a global scale. Co-led by 26 patient advocacy organizations across six continents, World Narcolepsy Day inspires action, increase public knowledge, and elevate the voices of people living with narcolepsy worldwide.
Based on our current understanding of the condition, people with narcolepsy should not be at increased risk from COVID-19.
